Lice happens. We handle it.

We work directly with educators, camp staff, and parents to make sure screenings are discreet, and effective — because lice happens. And when it does, it shouldn’t derail the gatherings.

  • Before you begin, make sure you have everything ready. You’ll need ONIT Lice Cleanser, a Nit-Free Terminator comb, six hair clips for sectioning, a comb suitable for detangling and parting, and plenty of paper towels. Gloves are optional but can be helpful for added comfort and cleanliness during the process.

Start with clean, dry hair that’s been fully detangled. Use a comb to divide the hair into six sections — first by parting from front to back, then again from ear to ear. You should now have six clear quadrants. Clip each section securely to keep things organized and ready for treatment.

  • Begin at the top of the first quadrant by applying a generous line of ONIT directly along the part. Create a new part about half an inch below the first and apply another line of product, working it gently into the hair beneath. Continue this process, part by part, until the entire section is thoroughly treated. Once the scalp and the first four to five inches of hair are fully saturated, clip the hair back and move on to the next quadrant. Repeat the same method for each remaining section. Before finishing, apply a final line of ONIT along the parts between the quadrants to make sure no areas of the scalp are left untreated.

  • After applying ONIT, wait 10 to 15 minutes before beginning the comb-out. Start by detangling the first quadrant. If the section is too thick, divide it into smaller, manageable parts. Using the Nit-Free Terminator comb, follow the part lines and work through the hair from multiple directions. Hold the comb at a 45-degree angle, keeping it in contact with the scalp to ensure thorough removal. Wipe the comb clean on paper towels or tissue after each pass to remove lice and nits. Continue combing until the section yields a clean pass, then clip it back and move on to the next quadrant. Once two quadrants are finished, revisit and comb through the part between them. Repeat this full process for all remaining sections and the parts in between to ensure complete coverage.

  • Once all sections have been thoroughly combed, wash the hair well using any shampoo you prefer. Follow up with conditioner and style as usual. If the scalp appears red or feels itchy, don’t worry — this is a normal reaction to lice activity and should resolve within three to four days.
